Whale Wars Never Ending Battle

Whale Wars never ending battle
I really astonished to see the reality show in the Discovery Channel the Whale Wars now started showing in India. This has opened my eyes. Anti whaling campaign like this I’ve not seen before. This battle is a toughest one against the Japanese Government sponsoring illegal commercial whaling in the Antarctic Whale Sanctuary. It has been started by  Paul Watson, founder of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society guarding the whales from Japanese poachers.
Earlier, I only knew about the Greenepeace movement, a non-governmental ogranisation started campaign to ensure the earth to nurture life in all its diversity. The campaign started by the Greenpeace on the environmental issues and has been received international attention when the French Intelligence Agency bombed in Auckland Waitemata Harbour killing one rainbow warrior and become largest environmental organization.
I knew from the beginning from the Discovery Channel TV show, that the Sea Shepherd is not only against the whaling and but also likes to operate direct action activism against the poachers to protect the oceanic wildlife. The warriors (a limited crew members and volunteers) of Sea Shepherd under the leadership of Captain Paul Watson with its ship “Steve Irwin” (named in the honour of “The Crocodile Hunter” star Steve Irwin) are intervening against shark poaching, Finning, seal hunting and obviously whaling in water around the Antarctic Ocean, South Pacific. Their only weapon is stink bombs bottles of “Butyric Acid” – a fatty acid industrially prepared by fermentation of sugar and starch and has a powerful odor causing nausea. On the other side the Japanese have a huge factory ship “Nisshin Maru” named with ridiculous “RESEARCH” with three/four catcher ships armed with explosive harpoons, Long Range Acoustic Devices (LARD) a military weapon that temporarily blind the target, grenades and obviously bullets that struck Captain Paul Watson in 2008.
I also knew that Japanese whalers are killing the protected animals they have also deliberately destroyed a vessel of Sea Shepherd injuring one crew member.
In India, I don’t know, whether whales are killing for its meat, I’ve not seen any news yet, but there are societies working / campaigning against animal cruelty, can organize campaign fighting against whaling for the great never ending battle started by the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
Please watch the TV show in the Discovery Channel and support the Sea Shepherd.
